The Humble Beginnings of Mohammed Hussain

Our story began in 1956 when Mohammed Hussain arrived in England with less than £5 in savings. Through sheer determination, he worked his way through various jobs—from factory sweeper and bus conductor to owning a chip shop and clothing factory—before finally finding his calling in the care industry.

A New Chapter: Marriage and Family Life

In 1963, Mohammed Hussain married his good wife, Anwar. Together, they built a happy family life in Wigan, supporting each other through every step of their journey.

The Seed of a Vision: A Better Care Home

In the 1970s, while visiting a care home in Wigan to make a charitable donation, Mohammed and Anwar Hussain had a moment of inspiration. They realised they could build a better care home and provide a higher standard of care for the elderly, sparking a new ambition.

Building the Dream: Haighfield Care Home

After years of saving, Mohammed and Anwar made a bold decision in 1990. They demolished their own family home, which was being renovated, to build Wigan’s first purpose-built care home—Haighfield Care Home. This created not only an exceptional service for the elderly but also many new jobs for the local community.

The Birth of Beeches Care Home

Due to the success of Haighfield, word quickly spread, and the care home was soon at full capacity. This success enabled Mohammed and Anwar to open Beeches Care Home in Coppull in 1992, expanding their vision of providing high-quality care.

Expanding the Family with The Willows

Continuing their mission to provide excellent care, Mohammed and Anwar opened The Willows in Chester in 1994, adding another purpose-built care home to their growing family-run group, further strengthening their legacy in the care industry.

The Next Generation: Naveed and Vaseem Join the Family Business

After graduating, Mohammed and Anwar’s two sons, Naveed and Vaseem, joined the family business. They brought fresh ideas, extended the care homes, and improved the systems, continuing to build on the family’s vision of providing exceptional care.

Commitment to Excellence: Continuing the Family Legacy

Naveed and Vaseem continue to work together, dedicated to ongoing education and improvement. They strive to provide the best care service for residents, honouring their parents’ dream of treating others with the love and care everyone deserves.
